Neurodiversity Coach

Our Neurodiversity coach works on the College’s diversity initiative, with a particular focus on Neurodiversity. This position involves providing support to enhance the experience of Neurodivergent students in the College of Engineering, focusing on developing students’ social, professional, and workplace skills, enhancing their sense of belonging on campus, and fostering an inclusive environment.

The Neurodiversity Initiative can provide quality, 1-on-1 support to your student in matters relating to their Co-Op, social-emotional development, and their general sense of belonging on campus as a neurodivergent person.

In order to receive services from the Neurodiversity Initiative, a student must book an appointment. That can be done HERE. In the first meeting, a Student Support Specialist will work with your student to create goals for them to work on throughout their time together. These goals will be categorized within three broad categories: Co-Op/Academics, Belonging on Campus, and Social Emotional Health. Each student will have their own individualized plan for reaching those goals. Further meetings will be focused on addressing these goals and monitoring student progress.

The Neurodiversity Initiative does NOT provide academic accommodations of any kind, but we can connect students to resources that can help them receive these accommodations.

If you have any questions, please send an email to neurodiversityinitiative@northeastern.edu.
