Neurodiversity Coach
Our Neurodiversity coach works on the College’s diversity initiative, with a particular focus on Neurodiversity. This position involves providing support to enhance the experience of Neurodivergent students in the College of Engineering, focusing on developing students’ social, professional, and workplace skills, enhancing their sense of belonging on campus, and fostering an inclusive environment.
The Neurodiversity Initiative can provide quality, 1-on-1 support to your student in matters relating to their Co-Op, social-emotional development, and their general sense of belonging on campus as a neurodivergent person.
In order to receive services from the Neurodiversity Initiative, a student must book an appointment. That can be done HERE. On Navigate, please use the comment function to indicate what you would like to discuss in the first meeting. The Student Support Specialist will meet with the student, 1-on-1, for 30 minutes. In this meeting, the Student Support Specialist will discuss how they can best meet the needs of the student, and what they can do to make their academic career at Northeastern as neuroinclusive as possible.
The Neurodiversity Initiative does NOT provide academic accommodations of any kind, but we can connect students to resources that can help them receive these accommodations.
If you have any questions, please send an email to neurodiversityinitiative@northeastern.edu.
