Neurodiversity Projects

Upcoming Projects of the Neurodiversity Initiative

These are the Projects that the Neurodiversity Initiative are currently working on around Campus

Neurodiversity Professional Development: The Neurodiversity Inclusion Professional Development Project aims to design and implement a training program for faculty and staff about inclusive pedagogy and how to adjust curriculum for neurodivergent students. This program will empower participants with the necessary skills, knowledge, and awareness to create inclusive learning and working environments that support the success of neurodiverse students.

Student Coaching: The Student Coach helps to work on the College’s diversity initiative, with a particular focus on Neurodiversity. This position provides aid to enhance the experience of Neurodivergent students in the COE (College of Engineering). The program focuses on developing students’ adaptive capabilities in all settings of life, enhancing their sense of belonging on campus, and fostering an inclusive environment.

Neurodiversity Co-op Development: Encouraging and guiding neurodiverse students through the process of experiential learning and how to succeed within co-op programming. The Initiative connects with existing corporate neurodiversity hiring programs in order to broaden their concepts of inclusion.

Pathfinders: We offer an extension of our Summer Bridge program called “Pathfinders” to help bring all the necessary first year information to incoming underrepresented students. As well as fostering community and support within the neurodivergent population, giving these students a preview of the Northeastern campus and college experience leads to increased confidence that contributes to positive outcomes.
